The mission of Educational Festival is to build a connection between cultural awareness, artistic expression, and educational experiences within local/global communities. To provide diverse perspectives in educational subjects, community awareness, and personal leadership by bringing families together with unique services and programs during events. This website is about fundraising and introducing new fundraising campaigns. I want to tell my sister’s story as the International Discovery Camp will open the doors in her honor. 

Samaiyah started her journey in Africa as a teacher at Ghana International School. She stayed in her position as an educator waiting for an opportunity to explore the world. Samaiyah dedicated her life to helping others. All educators know… the job of teaching is never easy yet it’s rewarding. Samaiyah wanted to live life through her vision, travel the world, teach, and help build a bridge for cultural connections between American and African students. She had a passion to teach and so she did. 

Samaiyah’s degree in Mass Communication led her to live in her passion for service. Samaiyah had a burning desire to lead and teach others, her opportunity to work outside the classroom in Ghana arrived as she opened a school (Springforth International School, now Springforth Community School), started International Discovery Camp, had a Teacher’s Store in Accra Mall. Then Samaiyah established herself in the community and acquired land hoping to build her camp that has now been transferred to her sister.

As the central goal of our organization, Educational Festival Inc. is dedicated to hosting an annual Educational Festival in local Texas communities, offering a comprehensive day of educational services. With 21 years of experience as a master teacher, I am transitioning from the classroom to continue the art of teaching outside traditional settings. Established in 2015 and registered as a nonprofit organization in Texas, we are committed to restructuring our nonprofit business to better serve our mission. With a focus on networking, strategic fundraising, and grant-seeking, we aim to reach parents, educators, and students while leveraging our 501c3 status for maximum impact.

Driven by a personal commitment to honor my late sister, an educator who passed away in Ghana in 2014, we collaborate on a nonprofit organization that provides annual services through the Educational Festival. Together, we envisioned the International Discovery Camp, which allows U.S. students to attend a camp she initiated in Ghana. Despite her passing, it remains my mission to carry on her legacy. Our board of directors remains dedicated to providing access to educational experiences, cultural awareness, and artistic expression through our annual community events.

By donating, you will play a vital role in the construction of the International Discovery Camp in Ghana, West Africa. This state-of-the-art facility will feature 18 self-contained rooms with American standard amenities, providing comfortable lodging for campers. Construction is already underway, with Samaiyah’s Guest House and the International Discovery Camp will become a hub for Educational Festival. The property is located on a scenic mountaintop, offering a scenic view overlooking the town of Pokuase, Adusa. Our location is nested in a vibrant forest surrounded by an abundance of Palm and Coconut trees. This camp offers a picturesque setting ideal for transformative experiences. Once finished, the camp will provide 18 dormitory-style rooms, 5 classrooms for various programs, banquet facilities, teacher supply store, internet café, library, kitchen, laundry room, music studio, outdoor entertainment spaces, and walking trail. Your support will help us create a dynamic environment where students can learn, grow, and thrive for the next generation of leaders.
